Friends of the Earth Australia’s Emerging Tech Project is a collective working for social and environmental justice. We aim to catalyse debate and see a change in the way we think about, assess and introduce new technologies.
Our focus is primarily on nanotechnology, synthetic biology and geo-engineering, but we are also keeping our eye on a suite of other new technologies that are on the horizon. There are a number of ways that you can get involved to suit your interests, time and skills. We welcome new collective members, ideas, initiatives and projects.
The Emerging Tech Project relies on the generous work and support of volunteers. We recognise that volunteers are essential to the success of our organisation in working towards an environmentally sustainable and socially just future. A number of volunteer opportunities are available with the campaign – including research, communications and media work. We welcome people to come up with their own research or project ideas, and we are flexible. If you are interested in volunteering with the project please get in touch!
We need to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy so that we can use our resources for maximum impact.
